Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.31% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:00AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.69 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.59 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 0.5 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 0.32 per cent) and Wipro Ltd.(up 0.3 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Coforge Ltd.(down 0.31 per cent) and MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.31 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.31 per cent at 32374.5 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 25.4 points at 19790.6, while the BSE Sensex was up 9.25 points at 65991.73.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, RattanIndia Power and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of GE Power India, Starteck Finance, Creative Peripherals, Naga Dhunseri Group and Bang Overseas hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Rajesh Exports, ESAF Small Finance, Winsome Yarns, APM Finvest and GIR Natureview hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
