A special traffic advisory has been issued by the Delhi Traffic Police in view of the India International Trade Fair, 2023 which will be conducted from November 14 to November 27 at Delhi’s Pragati Maidan. Around 40,000 visitors are expected to visit the trade fair, each day and on weekends and holidays, the footfall is expected to be at around one lakh per day.
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS AND DIVERSIONS
- In order to ensure smooth traffic management in and around Pragati Maidan, where the fair will take place, a set of measures will be taken:
- No vehicle will be allowed to park anywhere on Mathura Road and Bhairon Marg. Visitors will not be allowed to park vehicles on Sher Shah Road, Purana Quila Road, Bhagwan Dass Road and Tilak Marg.
- Vehicles found parked on the above mentioned roads will be towed away and actions will be taken for improper parking and disobedience of lawful instructions.
ROUTES TO AVOID
As per the advisory, following are the routes that have been asked to be avoided during the time:
- Bhairon Marg
- Purana Quila Road
- Shershah Road
- Mathura Road from W-Point to Mathura Road Crossing Subramaniam Bharti Marg
The police has also requested commuters to cooperate by avoiding the above mentioned roads and make use of public transport most of the times.
The traffic police also advised people who going towards ISBT/Railway Stations/Airports to carefully plan their travel with sufficient time at hand.
PEDESTRIAN FOOT OVER BRIDGES
Due to the heavy pedestrian movement as well as heavy traffic on Mathura Road, people have been advised to use the foot-over bridge there.
HOW TO VISIT TRADE FAIR
- The advisory mentioned that those coming by Delhi Metro may get down at Supreme Court Metro Station and take entry to ITPO through Gate No. 10. People can also use shuttle service for entry through Gate No.’s 6 and 4.
- Another option advised by the officials is that one may also get down at Mandi House Metro Station and walk. Those using DTC buses for travelling from Delhi or NCR can alight at designated bus stops on Mathura Road and Bhairon Marg.
- The instructions for vehicle parking for visitors are: Basement parking No.1 (Entry & Exit from Bhairon Marg & through Pragati tunnel coming from ring road side) Bhairon Mandir parking, Bhairon Road and Delhi Zoo Parking.
- The exhibitors or visitors have been advised to park their vehicles in basement parking No. 2, under Bharat Mandapam.
