Currently, Bharat Dal is being distributed through retail outlets of The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) and National Consumers Cooperative Federation of India Limited (NCCF) and Kendriya Bhandar and Safal.

Earlier this month, the government started selling wheat flour at a subsidised rate of Rs 27.50 per kg under the brand name 'Bharat Atta' across the country. 'Bharat Atta' will be sold through outlets the 2,000-odd outlets of NAFED, NCCF and Kendriya Bhandars. For better offtake, Bharat Atta will also be sold through 800 mobile vans which will be deployed across the country.

These mobile vans will also be selling Bharat Dal at Rs 60 per kg

The government maintains buffer stock of five major pulses, namely, chana, tur, urad, moong and masur under the Price Stabilisation Fund (PSF) to shield the public from price volatility. The buffer stocks are released in the market in a targeted manner to control prices. Stocks of chana dal are being released under the Bharat Dal brand to moderate prices.

To augment domestic availability of pulses, import of tur and urad have been kept under 'Free Category' till March 2024. The government has also cut import duty on masur.

For Bharat Atta, the central government will allocate 2.5 lakh tonnes of wheat from the Food Corporation of India (FCI) at Rs 21.50 per kg to Nafed, NCCF and Kendriya Bhandars. These agencies ill convert it into wheat flour and sell at Rs 27.50 per kg under the brand 'Bharat Atta'.
