Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: RattanIndia Power (number of shares traded: 7.06 crore), Reliance Power(number of shares traded: 5.54 crore), JP Power(number of shares traded: 4.72 crore), YES Bank(number of shares traded: 3.41 crore), Infibeam Avenues(number of shares traded: 3.10 crore), IFCI(number of shares traded: 3.06 crore), BHEL(number of shares traded: 2.75 crore), Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 2.50 crore), Godha Cabcon & Insul(number of shares traded: 2.21 crore) and GTL Infra(number of shares traded: 2.18 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 10:04AM in Monday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 49.8 points down at 19475.75, while BSE Sensex was down 202.96 points at 65056.49 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 2.34 per cent), NTPC Ltd.(up 2.00 per cent), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.82 per cent), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.36 per cent) and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.11 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 0.98 per cent), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 0.71 per cent), Nestle India Ltd.(down 0.71 per cent) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 0.67 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
