    Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.65%

    The Nifty IT index closed 0.65 per cent down at 30717.7.

    NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Thursday.

    Shares of MphasiS Ltd.(up 0.52 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 0.49 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.4 per cent) and Coforge Ltd.(up 0.32 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

    On the other hand, Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.33 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 1.16 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.0 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.61 per cent) and Wipro Ltd.(down 0.35 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

    The Nifty IT index closed 0.65 per cent down at 30717.7.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 48.2 points at 19395.3, while the BSE Sensex stood down 143.41 points at 64832.2.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 ended in the green, while 29 closed in the red.

    Shares of YES Bank, JP Power, Reliance Power, Vodafone Idea and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of IndiaPowerCorp, AMJ Land Holdings, GeeCee Ventures, KPI Global Infra and Acrysil hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while HP Adhesives, Compuage Infocom, Shree Ram Proteins, Lords Chloro and Winsome Yarns hit their fresh 52-week lows.
