Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:04AM

Bikaji Foods International(up 4.81%), Varun Beverages(up 3.14%), Sheetal Cool Products(up 1.17%), Vadilal Industries(up 1.03%), Dangee Dums(up 0.95%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 0.88%), Dodla Dairy(up 0.86%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 0.71%), Umang Dairies(up 0.70%) and ADF Foods(up 0.66%) were among the top gainers.

Adani Wilmar(down 2.13%), Nakoda Group(down 1.99%), Zydus Wellness(down 1.70%), Parag Milk(down 0.96%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 0.90%), Marico(down 0.83%), Bajaj Consumer(down 0.46%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 0.46%), Britannia Industries(down 0.32%) and Hindustan Unilever(down 0.30%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 61.7 points down at 19350.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 231.29 points at 64727.4 at around 10:04AM.

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.59%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 1.26%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.69%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 0.58%), Cipla Ltd.(up 0.54%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 0.52%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.51%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.45%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.45%) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 0.4%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 1.12%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 0.88%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 0.73%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.73%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.59%), ITC Ltd.(down 0.58%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(down 0.56%), Coal India Ltd.(down 0.55%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.49%) and Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 0.49%) were trading in the red.
