    Looking in impervious form in the 2023 Cricket World Cup, Mohammed Shami became the leading wicket taker for India in the history of ODI Cricket World Cup with 45 scalps, surpassing the likes of Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath.

    Shami's 5-wicket haul against Sri Lanka helped India register a massive 302-run victory at the Wankhede on Thursday.

    This was Shami’s second fifer in this World Cup, with the earlier one coming against New Zealand in Dharamsala.

    His victims were Charith Asalanka, Dushan Hemantha, Angelo Mathews, Dushmantha Chameera and Kasun Rajitha as hapless Sri Lanka were bundled out for 55 in just 19.4 overs.
