Donald Trump Jr. is set to testify in his father's business fraud trial in New York on Wednesday.
New York Attorney General James is suing former President Donald Trump for $250 million, accusing him of inflating his net worth by billions of dollars to obtain benefits such as better bank loans and reduced tax bills between 2011 and 2021. Trump maintains his innocence in the case, accusing prosecutors of targeting him for political purposes. The lawsuit is civil, not criminal, meaning he will not face jail time.
Trump has pleaded not guilty in this case as well as in the other three indictments he's facing.
James compelled testimony from former President Donald Trump's three eldest children in the business fraud lawsuit. Trump Jr. and Eric Trump are listed as defendants in the civil suit, while Ivanka Trump was dropped from it earlier this year due to a statute of limitations.
Trump Jr. will be the first of the former president's children to testify in the civil trial. He has served as an executive vice president of the Trump Organization after joining in 2001.
"Based out of Jupiter, Florida, Donald Jr. actively oversees The Trump Organization's extensive property portfolio. He is involved in all aspects of the company's development, from deal evaluation, analysis and pre-development planning to construction, branding, marketing, operations, sales and leasing," his biography on the company's website reads.
Trump Jr. Oversaw Development of Trump Park Avenue
Trump Jr. has worked on a number of projects, including the West Side Yards redevelopment in Manhattan and led the development of Trump Park Avenue, which has come under scrutiny amid the civil trial.
Donald Bender, a partner at Mazars USA and longtime accountant for Donald Trump's businesses, testified that the valuation given for the Trump Park Avenue penthouse in Manhattan was different than the price offered to Ivanka Trump to buy it outright.
James' lawsuit alleged the Trump Organization valued the apartment at $20.8 million, compared with the $8.5 million option price offered to Trump's daughter.
Other Trump Jr. Projects

Trump Jr. also oversaw the construction, financing and development of the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago, was involved in the development of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas and built Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen, Scotland.
He also "spearheaded" several international properties, including four in India and one in Canada, according to his company biography.
In a January 2022 press release demanding Trump's children to cooperate with the investigation, James noted that he "runs the Trump Organization" alongside Eric Trump.
"He is also a trustee of the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust and has certified annual financial statements regarding the assets the Trust holds for Donald J. Trump," James wrote.
