Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.27% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:04AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Punjab National Bank(up 0.89 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 0.53 per cent) and Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.3 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.12 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.77 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 0.46 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.42 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.42 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.27 per cent at 42731.3 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 9.55 points at 19070.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 25.16 points at 63849.77.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, JP Power, IOB, YES Bank and Indian Oil Corp. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Mazda Ltd, Kapston Facilities, JP Associates, Maan Aluminium and Vodafone Idea hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style, Max Estates, Yasho Industries, Nagreeka Capital and Winsome Yarns hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
