Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.23 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.23 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.11 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.04 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was up 0.05 per cent at 30597.15 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 41.4 points at 19038.2, while the BSE Sensex was down 163.23 points at 63711.7.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, JP Power, YES Bank, IOB and Indian Oil Corp. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Mazda Ltd, Kapston Facilities, Geojit Financial, Anand Rathi Wealth and JP Associates hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style, Max Estates, Yasho Industries, Nagreeka Capital and Compuage Infocom hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
