Another pet-related dispute was reported from a Noida high-rise. A heated altercation erupted between a retired IAS Officer, RP Gupta, and a woman at Sector 108’s Park Laureate Society when the woman refused to get off a lift with her pet.

In the video, which has now gone viral on social media, the IAS officer can be seen slapping the woman when she tried to stop Gupta from recording a video of the entire incident. In a bid to defend herself, the woman, too, can be seen using her hand to block the retired IAS officer’s blows.

Some reports suggest that the woman’s husband later came to the spot and bashed the former IAS officer badly.

Police Commissionerate Gautam Buddh Nagar wrote on X that there has been a dispute regarding taking the dog in the lift, adding that according to preliminary information, there was physical fight from both the parties.

“There has been a dispute regarding taking the dog in the lift. Talks are being held with both the parties, ACP-1 Noida Maya police station in-charge is at the spot. According to preliminary information, there has been a fight between both the parties, CCTV is being observed… after investigation, necessary action will be taken,” Police Commissionerate Gautam Buddh Nagar’s X post read.

What Does the Pet Policy Say?

A fine of Rs 500 will be imposed if not registered. OSD of Noida Authority, Indu Prakash Singh, says that when the dog policy was implemented in December last year, a mobile application was also made available. People had to go there and register their pets. The last date for registration is 30 March 2023. After that, there will be a fine of Rs 500 for registering a pet. Indu Prakash Singh emphasizes that this is mandatory for all pet owners.

OSD Indu Prakash said that this will make it easy to maintain a database of dogs and the counting will also continue accurately. So far, only 3 thousand pets have been registered.
