ReutersShares of Sanofi India Ltd.(up 1.34 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.81 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 0.76 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 0.66 per cent) and Cipla Ltd.(up 0.54 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 2.38 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 1.37 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 1.15 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 1.06 per cent) and Biocon Ltd.(down 1.01 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.62 per cent down at 14683.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 61.3 points at 19079.6, while the BSE Sensex stood down 237.72 points at 63874.93.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, JP Power, Piramal Pharma, YES Bank and IOB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Apollo Micro Systems, North Eastern, Emkay Global, Orbit Exports and Weizmann Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Godha Cabcon & Insul, Max Estates, Shree Ram Proteins, Yasho Industries and Balaxi Pharma hit their fresh 52-week lows.
