Prince Harry's 'Protective' Gesture Over Meghan Markle Caught on Camera

Prince Harry's protective body language towards wife, Meghan Markle, during the Invictus Games in Germany earlier this year has gone viral. Fans spotted the gesture in footage that has recently resurfaced on TikTok.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's public displays of affection have formed the basis for an increasing number of social-media posts over the course of their five-year marriage. Fans of the couple eagerly chart the moments as they occur during official appearances.

Harry and Meghan met in the summer of 2016 and married in May 2018 at St George's Chapel, Windsor, in Berkshire, England. Over the course of their relationship, the prince has made a number of protective gestures towards Meghan; from releasing a statement condemning negative media attention in their early days of dating, to playing part in the decision to split from the monarchy and move to the U.S. in 2020.

Uploaded to TikTok by user @sussexfans on October 3, a new viral video shows the prince and Meghan as the couple attended the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games veterans' event, held in Germany in September 2023.

The clip shows Meghan bend down to speak to a member of the audience at the ceremony. As she does, Harry is seen moving closer to his wife and placing a hand on her back.

Captioned "Protective Harry" and "Harry being Harry I LOVE THIS" by the video poster, the clip has received more than 138,000 views on the social-media platform so far, and over 2,500 likes.

The video has also received numerous comments from TikTok users, many of which have praised the couple.

"Harry and Meghan are beautiful wonderful caring people," posted one viewer.

"They're both living their best life," wrote another, with a further comment reading: "Touch."

Harry and Meghan have attended the games together since 2017, when they made their first official appearance as a couple at the tournament held in the Canadian city of Toronto, where Meghan lived while filming her hit TV show Suits.

Harry co-founded the Invictus Games in 2014 after attending the U.S.-focused Warrior Games during a Stateside visit a year earlier. Invictus was created with a worldwide outlook, providing an international platform for the global community of injured, sick and wounded veterans to showcase their mental and physical rehabilitation.

The first games took place in London, followed by Orlando in 2016, Toronto in 2017, Sydney in 2018, the Hague in 2022 and Dusseldorf in 2023.

The next games will take place on the west coast of Canada in 2025 and include winter sports events for the first time.
