    S&P 500, Nasdaq fall at open as Alphabet slides

    The Nasdaq and the S&P 500 opened lower on Wednesday as tech giant Alphabet slumped after its cloud division missed revenue estimates, while other mega-cap stocks also edged lower pressured by rising U.S. Treasury yields.

    The S&P 500 opened lower by 15.26 points, or 0.36%, at 4,232.42, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 100.01 points, or 0.76%, to 13,039.86 at the opening bell.

    The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 62.15 points, or 0.19%, at the open to 33,203.53.
