Do you think ENB will ever get back to 40-45usd

Doubled my ENB position this week to 600 shares. I'll add to AM when it becomes more reasonable.
I started my $ENB position recently after the Dominion deal.
@High Yield Investor Yes, ENB is a lower growth option (and I am in the hole a bit after adding a few months ago), but I am thinking to add a bit more because they are SO consistent... Good analysis and thanks for the review.
b
I own AM at a 5%+ position on a 4.19 Covid cost. I’d be curious to see a side by side performance of the two the last year or two and I’m sure AM is much stronger.

Was also surprised that ENB had to scrap its 40+ year streak of dividend growth.

Agree that ENB may be a better buy now as a reversion to the mean, style choice, but sticking with strength of AM.

And let us not forget that AM was the highest yielding midstream leading into Covid and stubbornly kept the 0.3125 payment even into the Covid collapse. So when dividend growth resumes it could be outsized, compared to the steady Eddie of ENB. Best 🙏

Good article, analysis and comparison. I own them both and I am happy with both of them. Long on both. I agree with you about ENB having an edge and I have been adding.
I own AM at $4.11 which yields me 21.9% on my cost. Plus, every 1099 reports much as ROC which drops my average cost and reduces how much of the dividends are taxed. I am not concerned for shares with a future cost of zero which will be reported as cap gains. I might sell some day if AM goes to $20.

This is another of the numerous articles on ENB which fails, when discussing its dividend to note that this dividend is paid in Canadian dollars and is therefor worth about 34% less than noted. I have only seen 1 article note this fact and then only in passing. People investing in ENB for its dividend should take note.
b
@fjhl Link to ENB what it paid dividends in US dollars. Still has a eight percent plus yield. =www.digrin.com/...
M
@bengraved Absolutely correct. When I buy ENB the share price comes out of my account in US$. When I get the dividend distribution in my account it comes in US$. The quoted dividend yield is correct. If I lived in Canada and purchased the stock on the TSE, my dividend would be paid to me in CA$...but I would be buying the stock using CA$. Either way, the dividend yield is the same.

It is worth noting if you hold ENB in a taxable account, ENB will withhold 15% CA Tax on the dividend distribution. But you typically get that back when you file for the foreign tax credit on your tax return.
w
@fjhl you are wrong. Div is can$.8875 which is USD .6470 today.

Thanks for the article. I traded out of AM at 12 per share (it has gone up since then) and into ENB. Happy with the decision. I was looking for stronger and more regionally diversified company.
b
I own both, agree ENB is by far the more conservative investment, of the two.
J
i have both in my long term investment portfolio and for the monent will keep both.
P
Well done, the case of each is put forward very well.
