Nakoda Group(down 3.22%), Parag Milk(down 3.10%), Umang Dairies(down 2.46%), Hindustan Unilever(down 2.08%), Bajaj Consumer(down 1.87%), Heritage Foods(down 1.84%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 1.70%), ADF Foods(down 1.50%), Jyothy Labs(down 1.41%) and P & G Hygiene(down 1.29%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 82.05 points down at 19542.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 231.62 points at 65397.62.
Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.79%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.29%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.12%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.07%), NTPC Ltd.(up 0.62%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 0.61%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.51%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 0.39%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 0.23%) and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.14%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, ITC Ltd.(down 2.68%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 2.3%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.29%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 2.07%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 2.06%), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.88%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 1.7%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.67%), UPL Ltd.(down 1.64%) and Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 1.48%) closed in the red.
