The NSE Nifty index closed 46.4 points down at 19624.7, while BSE Sensex ended down 247.78 points at 65629.24.
On the other hand, Wipro Ltd.(down 2.98 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.26 per cent), UPL Ltd.(down 1.13 per cent), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 1.05 per cent) and Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 1.04 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
