With Halloween right around the corner, dog owners are finding costumes to dress up their furry friends, but one TikTok user is showing audiences that dog costumes do not have to be just for the spooky season.
This dog mom, known on TikTok as @missjazzy.doodle, needed to disguise her dogs from the landlord who was coming over since technically, no pets are allowed. She sat the two dogs on the couch next to a few stuffed animals. The costumes she used matched the fabric and theme of the toys.
"Don't move, don't breathe, don't blink," the caption reads on the Monday video. The clever trick is fooling audiences into thinking nothing is out of the ordinary.

These dogs, who are dressed as a bear and lion, blended right in with the stuffed animals. They sat calmly and barely moved. The serious look in their eyes meant even the dogs knew what was at stake.
What Do the Comments Say?
Viewers are impressed by this trick to disguise the dogs from the landlord. The only thing this owner needs to work on is their blinking. Then it would be smooth sailing to beat around the no-pet policy.
"The bear was a perfect blend, I missed him at first," wrote TikTok user @rubydog670. Another user commented, "Didn't realize until he blinked."
A different user came to the creator's defense saying, "I never saw anything blink, just looks a normal collection of stuffed animals."
Others are saying that as long as these two do not bark, the landlord would never know.
Dog Costume Safety Precautions
Plenty of dog owners want their fur babies to join in on the Halloween spirit. They'll either purchase dog-friendly costumes or if their creative juices are flowing, they might make costumes. Either way, it's important to keep in mind what will be safe for your dog.
Dog owners should follow the costume guidelines that the American Kennel Club put out to ensure dogs and owners both have a fun night. These guidelines include avoiding toxic ingredients, taking temperature into consideration, being aware of choking hazards, doing a test run, and if your dog looks uncomfortable, ditching the costume. Remember, simplicity and comfort are key.
