Laughter Over How Dog Uses Golden Retriever Sibling: 'No Human, No Problem'

A social-media video that captured a golden retriever being used by a shiba inu as a masseur has left the internet in hysterics.

The viral video, viewed more than 3.6 million times since it was first shared to TikTok on October 6, sees the shiba inu named Kai cheekily position herself below the paws of her golden-retriever sibling Murphy. Viewers were delighted to see Kai shimmying from side to side, making sure all of her back was fairly massaged by Murphy.

The video's creator, who goes by Raegan on TikTok, had written under the post, "no human, no problem! Will find a way for pet." The dog's owner had also directed a sarcastic message to Kai, and had written across the post, "who does she think she is?"

The American Kennel Club (AKC) says that the shiba inu breed are known for their confident and alert temperament, making them pets full of character and personality. However, the breed is described as being quite attached to owners, which can lead to the dogs suffering from separation anxiety when left alone. "They're sturdy, muscular dogs with a bold, confident personality to match," the AKC writes on its website.

"[Some] shibas can suffer from separation anxiety and should be able to spend periods of time crated even when the owners are home and at night. Crating guarantees a home will remain intact," the pet registry adds.
