Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate RapidX Metro in Ghaziabad on October 20. A team of paramilitary force National Security Guard (NSG) will oversee the security arrangements for the event in Ghaziabad within the next two days.
NSG sources told CNN-News18 that along with modern equipment, anti-drone units will also be deployed around the inauguration site of RapidX Metro.
After a thorough inspection of about 20 km area surrounding the venue of the inauguration ceremony of RapidX Metro, commando soldiers will be deployed on many high-rise buildings.
Along with NSG, about 10 search squads, around 5,000 soldiers from many other paramilitary forces including anti-sabotage will also be deployed within the next three days.
Over 50,000 people are expected to attend the inauguration of RapidX Metro in Ghaziabad.
According to an Indian Express report, following the inauguration, the first phase of the 82-km-long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor will become operational.
It includes a total of five stations – Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot. The RapidX metro will cover a distance of 17 km on this route in around 12, which normally takes more than 35 minutes by road.
A total of 10 trains will be operational on the said route and a single rapid rail will have space for 1,700 passengers, officials said.
