A 17-year-old girl, returning from NEET coaching on Tuesday, tragically lost both her legs and left arm when her 19-year-old stalker allegedly pushed her in front of a moving train in Bareilly.
The girl is currently in a critical condition and receiving treatment at a private hospital, reported police.
Dr. OP Bhaskar, who initially attended to the girl, stated, “She was admitted with amputations below the knee on both legs, and she also suffered the loss of one hand along with multiple fractures. Due to severe blood loss, we administered six units of blood. Her condition is extremely critical.”
In response to the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took action, suspending three police personnel, including the Station House Officer (SHO), for negligence.
Upon receiving news of the event, District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar and Senior Superintendent of Police Sushil Chandrabhan Ghule promptly visited the hospital to meet with the girl on Wednesday morning.
According to a Times of India report, the DM said: “The victim’s parents will receive an immediate compensation of Rs 5 lakh on the instructions of the CM. We have transferred the girl to a higher-level medical facility, and the government will cover the expenses of her treatment. The police are actively investigating the case, and stringent measures will be taken against the accused.”
