GPMT is an obvious takeover target. Every quarter a ton of loans pay back at face value, including office loans. Since q2 closed, another ~$200mm of payoffs (actual payoffs + pending transactions) have occured. Out of that at least $66mm is coming back from the sale of the following office building in Miami:

therealdeal.com/...

The building is to be sold for $82mm, and GPMTs loan balance is $66mm.

The market is pricing in ~20% losses on the entire book of GPMTs loans, (99.5% of which are senior first lien loans) and this is totally unrealistic. With passage of time, as more and more loans pay off at face value (Including office loans), this stock will either double or will be acquired by a larger player at a substantial premium to where it currently trades.

GPMT stock is a gift at current prices.

@valueinvestor43 Interesting comment. But the way the share price has performed it will be an even greater gift in the future.
