Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 10:39AM

Future Consumer(up 5.88%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 3.19%), Adani Wilmar(up 2.51%), Patanjali Foods(up 2.04%), Emami(up 1.75%), Sheetal Cool Products(up 1.63%), Parag Milk(up 1.57%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 1.38%), P & G Hygiene(up 1.31%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.30%) were among the top gainers.

JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 0.92%), Varun Beverages(down 0.57%), Zydus Wellness(down 0.20%), Jyothy Labs(down 0.13%) and Nakoda Group(down 0.12%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 106.9 points up at 19619.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 369.2 points at 65881.59 at around 10:39AM.

Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 3.03%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 2.67%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.82%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 1.53%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.52%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 1.44%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.41%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 1.3%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.22%) and UPL Ltd.(up 1.18%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.81%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.78%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.43%), Cipla Ltd.(down 0.4%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 0.21%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.17%) and Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 0.12%) were trading in the red.
