Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.45% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:34AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Punjab National Bank(up 2.31 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 1.34 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 1.03 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.94 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.68 per cent) were among the top gainers.

IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.8 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.33 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.45 per cent at 44082.35 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 101.05 points at 19613.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 350.3 points at 65862.69.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 were trading in the green, while 9 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Infibeam Avenues, JP Power, Indian Railway Fin and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of N K Industries, Guj Mineral Dev., Mazda Ltd, PVP Ventures Ltd. and Prakash Inds. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Themis Medicare, Baid Leasing, Shree Ram Proteins, Winsome Yarns and ideaForge Technology hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
