Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:29AM

Inox wind(up 1.93%), KPI Green Energy(up 1.30%), Kalpataru Projects International(up 1.19%), Power & Instrumentation(Gujarat)(up 0.95%) and Inox Wind Energy(up 0.40%) were among the top gainers.

Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 5.10%), Reliance Power(down 4.24%), Suzlon Energy(down 3.95%), DPSC(down 3.65%), Adani Power(down 3.60%), Karma Energy(down 3.49%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 3.39%), Indowind Energy(down 3.33%), Gujarat Industries Power(down 3.09%) and Alstom T&D India(down 2.92%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 77.6 points down at 19575.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 248.3 points at 65747.33 at around 10:29AM.

HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 1.59%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.23%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.16%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 0.71%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.64%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 0.48%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.44%), Wipro Ltd.(up 0.38%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 0.36%) and Infosys Ltd.(up 0.33%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 2.99%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 2.28%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 1.68%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 1.43%), State Bank of India(down 1.36%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 1.36%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 1.22%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 1.19%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.06%) and Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 1.01%) were trading in the red.
