Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Monday at 10:50AM

Dangee Dums(up 0.53%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 0.45%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.41%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.37%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 0.35%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 0.25%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 0.06%) and Bikaji Foods International(up 0.04%) were among the top gainers.

Future Consumer(down 5.56%), Umang Dairies(down 3.59%), Adani Wilmar(down 2.91%), Dodla Dairy(down 2.89%), Bajaj Consumer(down 2.70%), ADF Foods(down 2.43%), Emami(down 1.61%), Parag Milk(down 1.52%), Patanjali Foods(down 1.28%) and Gillette India(down 1.23%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 87.45 points down at 19566.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 287.94 points at 65707.69 at around 10:50AM.

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.71%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 1.57%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.16%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 1.01%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.43%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.42%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 0.37%), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.29%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 0.28%) and Wipro Ltd.(up 0.28%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 3.76%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 2.17%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 2.16%), State Bank of India(down 1.52%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 1.45%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 1.33%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 1.27%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 1.26%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 1.26%) and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.21%) were trading in the red.
