India vs Australia Live Updates: A look at records India can break in WC 2023
Indian star Virat Kohli needs three more hundreds to pass Tendulkar (49) and become the first player in ODI history to hit 50 tonnes.
Using the bat, Rohit is also in position to surpass Tendulkar (6) and become the Indian with the most hundreds in the event's history with only one more hundred.
Indian skipper-cum-opener Rohit Sharma needs three more sixes to surpass famous West Indian opener Chris Gayle (553), who currently holds the record for most sixes hit in international cricket.
Shubman Gill, a young Indian opener, needs 665 more runs to surpass Sachin Tendulkar (1,894) as the player with the most runs scored in an ODI calendar year.
Indian seamer Mohammed Shami needs just 13 more scalps to beat Zaheer Khan (44) and Javagal Srinath (44) to become the highest-scoring Indian in World Cup history.
India would become the first team to ever win the tournament as a host consecutively if it were to come out on top in terms of taking home the crown. India last hosted the event in 2011, when it won.

India vs Australia Live Updates: Oz skipper ready to face India
Australian captain Pat Cummins in a pre-game press conference stated that they had played more white ball cricket in India than in their own country, which they will do in their ICC Men's Cricket World Cup campaign opener against India.
He also said that his team was confident in playing the hosts and that they were familiar with the playing field.
"We have played more white ball cricket in India than Australia in the last 10 years. We know the condition very well. The positive thing is that we have played some really good cricket against India in the last few years......We cannot take credit for the World Cup win of the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s," Cummins added.
