AgenciesBharat Forge Ltd.(up 1.64 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.08 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 1.05 per cent), MRF Ltd.(up 0.95 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.79 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.57 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 0.02 per cent) and Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was up 0.67 per cent at 16023.45 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 88.15 points at 19633.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 293.71 points at 65925.28.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 were trading in the green, while 9 were in the red.
Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Ujjivan SFB and IOB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of PNB Gilts, Rajshree Polypack, Mindteck India, Quick Heal Tech and Yatharth Hospital hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Shree Ram Proteins, Steel Exchange, Winsome Yarns, Baid Leasing and Shree Vasu Logistics hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
