ReutersShares of MphasiS Ltd.(up 1.99 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.72 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.68 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(up 0.57 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.06 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.92 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 0.61 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.5 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.38 per cent) and Wipro Ltd.(down 0.13 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.3 per cent up at 31811.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 92.65 points at 19436.1, while the BSE Sensex stood down 286.06 points at 65226.04.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 ended in the green, while 39 closed in the red.
Shares of Suzlon Energy, IOB, JP Power, Vodafone Idea and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of SoftTech Engineers, Apollo Micro Systems, MPS Ltd, SaskenTech and Dynamatic Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Manoj Vaibhav Gems N, Nuvama Wealth Manage, Sai Silks(Kalamandi, Shree Ram Proteins and Yatra Online hit their fresh 52-week lows.
