Baltimore police announced an incident with "multiple victims" near Morgan State University Tuesday night is no longer considered an "active shooter situation," which was followed by the university lifting its shelter-in-place order.
The department said on X, formerly Twitter, that officers were working an "active shooter situation" in the 1700 block of Argonne Drive at 10 p.m. on Tuesday. The location is on campus at MSU, a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) with over 9,000 students currently enrolled.
Morgan State University posted on X at 12:23 a.m. Wednesday that the shelter-in-place order issued at around 10:19 p.m. in response to the active shooter had been lifted.
"ATTENTION Morgan Community: The Shelter-in-Place order on campus has been lifted. All shuttle services have resumed. As more details become available, we will update our campus community via official University communication channels," MSU wrote.

The department confirmed that there are "multiple victims involved" in the incident, but did not share how many individuals were injured.

In a notice on its website, MSU said that "an active investigation is currently underway related to a report of shots being fired on or near campus."
Law enforcement asked concerned family members to stay away from campus and directed them to the parking lot of a nearby Safeway on Harford Road for more information from a Baltimore police officer.

ATF Baltimore Special Agents and K9s are at the university assisting Baltimore police with searching the crime scene for "shell casings and additional evidence," the agency said.
MSU campus police and BPD did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
