Voltamp Transformers(down 5.14%), JSW Energy(down 3.79%), Orient Green Power Company(down 3.55%), NLC India(down 2.29%), Inox Wind Energy(down 2.14%), Gujarat Industries Power(down 2.08%), Power & Instrumentation(Gujarat)(down 2.05%), DPSC(down 2.02%), Inox wind(down 1.85%) and Energy Development Company(down 1.24%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 192.9 points down at 19523.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 610.37 points at 65508.32.
Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 1.51%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 0.7%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 0.58%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.55%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 0.1%) and State Bank of India(up 0.03%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 4.59%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 3.98%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 3.16%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.73%), Wipro Ltd.(down 2.47%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 2.22%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 2.08%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.08%), ITC Ltd.(down 1.87%) and Infosys Ltd.(down 1.87%) closed in the red.
