Congress never wanted to give 33% reservation to women. Today, if they are in favour of women’s reservation, then it’s not due to their interest in it but under pressure from you (women) all. Congress Rajya Sabha member Digvijaya Singh on Monday claimed several leaders of the ruling BJP are keen to join the Grand Old Party as they have sensed “imminent defeat” in the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly elections.
Singh questioned if Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes that he can “wash away the sins” of the BJP government which has been in power in MP for the last 18 years and its ministers.
“People have made up their mind to dislodge the BJP from power in Madhya Pradesh. Sensing that they will face defeat in the polls, many big leaders of the ruling party are trying to join Congress again,” Singh claimed while speaking to reporters.

With an eye on the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday tore into Congress equating the party with “rusted iron” which he said would push MP back into the BIMARU category if given an opportunity again.
Addressing a massive gathering of BJP workers ‘Karyakarta Mahakumb’, the prime minister said the Congress and its allies in the “Ghamandia” bloc supported the Women’s Reservation Bill out of compulsion and hesitation as they understood the power of “nari shakti”.
He said if given an opportunity, Congress will back out on this bill that seeks to provide 33 per cent reservation to women in Parliament and state legislatures.
“If they (government) genuinely wanted to give reservation to women, they would have implemented it (Women’s Reservation Bill) in the upcoming Assembly elections and 2024 (Lok Sabha) elections, but they brought the Bill anticipating their defeat in these elections,” says Congress leader Supriya Shrinate at a press conference in Lucknow.
Madhya Pradesh: Congress has lost all its willpower. The grassroots leaders of Congress have been sitting quietly with their mouths locked… First, Congress was ruined, then they became bankrupt and now they have given their contract to someone else. The party is no longer being run by its leaders. Now it is outsourcing everything, from slogans to policies, and this contract is with some urban Naxalites…: PM Modi in Bhopal
Congress and ‘Ghamandia’ alliance couldn’t dare to oppose women’s reservation bill because women are now aware: PM Modi in Bhopal
“When Modi gives guarantees, when BJP gives guarantees, it hits the ground. Reaches every beneficiary. Modi means guarantee of fulfillment of every guarantee. A law was passed to reserve 33% of seats for mothers, sisters and daughters in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha…’Nari Shakti Vandan Act’ has created a new history in the country,” said PM Modi in Bhopal.
Congress cannot digest the development work in India… They don’t want the country to develop… They are never proud of the country’s achievements because neither they want to change and neither want the country to change or develop… Congress will make Madhya Pradesh a ‘Bimaru Rajya’ if it gets a chance (to come into power here). They opposed digital payment but the world is impressed by UPI mode: PM Modi in Bhopal.
“Congress is like rusty iron, which gets corroded if kept in the rain. Now Congress neither has the ability to see nor to understand the national interest…The upcoming (MP Assembly) polls are very crucial. We have to make sure that the path of development created by people of MP, that vehicle of development doesn’t wander or stop…This is the time to make India and Madhya Pradesh developed. At such a crucial time, if a familyist party like Congress, which has a history of scams worth thousands of scams, gets a chance, then MP will suffer a big loss,” says PM Modi at ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ in Bhopal

“The identity of Congress rule in Madhya Pradesh was… politics, bad governance, and corruption worth crores. After independence, Congress ruled Madhya Pradesh for a long time, but Congress made resource-rich Madhya Pradesh sick…If a dynastic party like Congress, a party that has created a history of scams worth thousands of crores, a party that does vote bank and appeasement politics, gets even the slightest chance, then Madhya Pradesh will suffer a huge loss. Congress will once again make Madhya Pradesh sick. Neither will Congress change nor allow vikas,” said PM Modi during his address to ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ at Jamboree Maidan in Bhopal.
“The BJP government in Madhya Pradesh has completed almost 20 years. This means the youths who will be voting for the first time in the upcoming elections, have only seen the BJP government. The present youth of Madhya Pradesh are lucky that they have not witnessed the bad governance of the Congress government… Congress turned the state into ‘Bimaru Rajya’… BJP has tried to take the state to a new level with new energy… Youths here have seen the development work and good governance of the BPJ government…” says PM Modi during his address to ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ at Jamboree Maidan in Bhopal
“People of the state have always supported BJP… The state is not only the ideology of the BJP but also the central spot of development vision…BJP government made the new parliament house, but Congress from the very first day protested against it and kept talking negatively about it…Congress is now reduced to rusted iron” says PM Modi during his address to ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ at Jamboree Maidan in Bhopal
“Madhya Pradesh is known as the heart of the nation. BJP has a special connection with the nation’s heart…This public uprising, this joy, this excitement, this ‘mahakumbh’ of workers says a lot. It shows what is in the heart of Madhya Pradesh,” says PM Modi at ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ in Bhopal.
