In the 23rd edition of the annual event this year, 31 bikers participated.

The Moto GP Bharat concluded on Sunday after three days of thrilling action. However, people in Karnataka seem to have gotten inspired by it so much that the state organised a bike race during the 23rd Annual Public Shree Ganeshotsav recently. Padangady village in Belthangady town of Dakshina Kannada district witnessed a bike race full of adventurous moments. Every year, the town celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi week by organising a Public Shree Ganeshotsav event. During this time, the bike race held in rural areas was a big hit with the locals.

In the 23rd edition of the annual event this year, 31 bikers participated. The event was organised with the view of giving encouragement to riders. Bikers from different parts of Karnataka participated. Contenders from Mudigere, Hassan, Bengaluru and Kerala took part in this competition.

It was a dirt bike race, which spanned over a distance of eight kilometres. In the event, the prizes were awarded to those who reached the fastest 8-km mark. This event is a big hit for rural people, as they watch bikers riding at high speeds in the dirt. They also love it when the participants perform the stunts on the mud road during the race. The event is organised in the forest regions of the Padangady Village.

The race track consists of several sharp turns and steep roads as seen in the video. The winner of the race is given Rs 10,000, while the runner-up receives the prize money of Rs 8,000. The third prize is worth Rs 7,750, which is followed by the fourth prize of Rs 4,450. Along with the prize money, the winner also receives an attractive trophy. The height of the trophy is estimated to be seven feet long.
