A section of Canadians have questioned the Justin Trudeau government over its casual approach to questions on the background and origins of Khalistani separatist-terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar amid Trudeau alleging India played a role in his death.
A video went viral on social media where Nijjar is seen advocating for the killing of officials with suicide vests while addressing a gathering inside a gurdwara there. He is seen lauding those who killed former prime minister Indira Gandhi and former chief minister Beant Singh

The commentators took to social media to question the government as India and Canada relations hit a fresh low over the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s claims that India played a role in the June murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Khalistani separatist-terrorist, near Vancouver.
"This is our legacy!" A reminder of who cheered for extrajudicial executions, like that of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Does NOT mean Nijjar should have been murdered himself – but he also applauded the suicide bomber who killed a Chief Minister of Punjab (and 16 bystanders.) https://t.co/j9XeOVGvDh— Terry Milewski (@CBCTerry) September 22, 2023
Nijjar was wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for funding terror and conspiracy to commit murder and threatened India’s sovereignty by expressing his desire to carve out Khalistan from India.
Clinical psychologist Dr Jordan B Peterson, former senior journalists Keean Bexte and Terry Milewski took to social media to question the Trudeau government over Hardeep Singh Nijjar and his motivations.
“A reminder of who cheered for extrajudicial executions, like that of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Does NOT mean Nijjar should have been murdered himself – but he also applauded the suicide bomber who killed a Chief Minister of Punjab (and 16 bystanders.),” Milewski said in a social media post on X (formerly Twitter).
Jordan Peterson accused National Democratic Party (NDP) leader Jagmeet Singh, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his Liberal Party for entangling Canada in the Khalistan issue. “This is what Canada is now tangled up in. Thanks to Jagmeet Singh, NDP and Justin Trudeau,” the clinical psychologist and famous conservative commentator said.
India and Canada relationship has been impacted due to the ongoing controversy over the death of the terrorist. Canada expelled a senior Indian diplomat from the country this week and India responded by expelling a Canadian diplomat from the country and reducing its diplomatic staff and stopping visa services.
India has maintained that the Canadian PM’s claims are ‘absurd’ and ‘motivated’.
