Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 0.56% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index traded positive around 10:09AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Phoenix Mills Ltd.(up 3.23 per cent), Macrotech Developers Ltd.(up 1.52 per cent), Brigade Enterprises Ltd.(up 0.5 per cent), Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.(up 0.46 per cent) and Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.(up 0.16 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd.(down 2.19 per cent), Godrej Properties Ltd.(down 0.35 per cent), Sobha Ltd.(down 0.23 per cent), Oberoi Realty Ltd.(down 0.1 per cent) and DLF Ltd.(down 0.06 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Realty index was up 0.56 per cent at 575.35 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 144.8 points at 19756.6, while the BSE Sensex was down 526.04 points at 66274.8.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 9 were trading in the green, while 41 were in the red.

Shares of IOB, JP Power, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Jindal Photo, KIOCL, Hathway Cable, Nava Bharat Vent. and Responsive Ind. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while FutureLifestyleFash, Jiwanram Sheoduttrai, Penta Gold, SS Infrastructure and AB Infrabuild hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
