Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 16.17 crore), JP Power(number of shares traded: 12.65 crore), YES Bank(number of shares traded: 10.01 crore), UCO Bank(number of shares traded: 8.76 crore), IOB(number of shares traded: 7.67 crore), Central Bank(number of shares traded: 7.10 crore), RattanIndia Power (number of shares traded: 6.97 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 6.26 crore), Infibeam Avenues(number of shares traded: 5.89 crore) and GTL Infra(number of shares traded: 5.53 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 11:10AM in Friday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 80.5 points up at 20183.6, while BSE Sensex was up 275.07 points at 67794.07 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 4.74 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 2.16 per cent), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 1.92 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.70 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 1.34 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Asian Paints Ltd.(down 1.41 per cent), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 1.03 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 0.99 per cent), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 0.89 per cent) and Tata Steel Ltd.(down 0.87 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
