Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Engineer's Day by acknowledging the contribution of engineers to the nation's progress. He praised their innovative minds and tireless dedication, stating that they are the backbone of the country's development. Engineer's Day is observed in honor of M Visvesvaraya, a pioneering engineer and administrator.

On the occasion of Engineer's Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his X (formerly Twitter) to greet engineers on Friday. He said they have become the backbone to the nation's progress with their innovative minds and tireless dedication.

The day is celebrated to commemorate pioneering engineer and administrator M Visvesvaraya on his birth anniversary, who was born in 1861.

"Greetings to all hardworking engineers on Engineers' Day! Their innovative minds and tireless dedication have been the backbone of our nation's progress. From infrastructural marvels to tech breakthroughs, their contributions touch every aspect of our lives," Modi said on X.

PM Modi also paid his homage to Visvesvaraya and called him a visionary engineer and statesman. He continues to inspire generations to innovate and serve the nation, the prime minister said.
