Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.8% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:09AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 2.53 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(up 2.42 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 1.49 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(up 1.04 per cent) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.95 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 0.75 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.8 per cent at 16123.15 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 55.25 points at 20125.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 95.89 points at 67562.88.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of JP Power, Suzlon Energy, NBCC , Indian Railway Fin and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Bombay Dyeing, Silver Touch Tech, Dalmia Bharat, Avadh Sugar Energy and Mawana Sugars hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Penta Gold, Vaxtex Cotfab and Mono Pharmacare hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
