Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 0.68%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.

Shares of Sobha Ltd.(up 8.04 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd.(up 4.93 per cent), Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.(up 4.04 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.(up 1.98 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises Ltd.(up 1.83 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Phoenix Mills Ltd.(down 3.4 per cent) and Oberoi Realty Ltd.(down 0.55 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 0.68 per cent up at 581.15.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 76.8 points at 20070.0, while the BSE Sensex stood up 245.86 points at 67466.99.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 ended in the green, while 19 closed in the red.

Shares of JP Power, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Suzlon Energy and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of NIIT Learning System, Silver Touch Tech, ITI Ltd, IOL Chemicals and Jocil Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vaxtex Cotfab, Sungarner Energies, Penta Gold, Sahaj Fashions and Vasa Retail & Overse hit their fresh 52-week lows.
