RTNPOWER(down 4.41%), Suzlon Energy(down 2.85%), Adani Power(down 2.38%), ADANIGREEN(down 1.89%), Adani Energy Solutions(down 1.81%), Indowind Energy(down 1.11%), Hitachi Energy India(down 0.59%), Energy Development Company(down 0.54%) and JSW Energy(down 0.35%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 76.8 points up at 20070.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 245.86 points at 67466.99.
Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 3.31%), Coal India Ltd.(up 3.28%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 2.83%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 2.77%), Titan Company Ltd.(up 2.42%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 2.06%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.81%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 1.65%), State Bank of India(up 1.37%) and Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.35%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.62%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.34%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 1.26%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 1.05%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.97%), Cipla Ltd.(down 0.91%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.84%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 0.67%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 0.66%) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.62%) closed in the red.
