    Section 144 across Andhra Pradesh

    Andhra Pradesh Police has imposed Section 144 across the state prohibiting rallies, processions and meetings. However, as per an IANS report, the TDP cadres took to streets Monday morning to lodge their protest defying the prohibitory orders. In Kuppam town of Chittoor district, the TDP workers staged a road blockade by burning tyres and placing boulders on the highway. Police arrested the protesters and shifted them to the police station.

    Tension prevailed at the RTC complex in Srikakulam as TDP workers tried to stop RTC buses from plying. Police took the protesters into custody.
    TDP men protesting at Atmakur RTC depot in Nellore district were also arrested by the police. Similar protest was held at the RTC bus stand in Vizianagaram district. In Tirupati, police arrested the TDP leaders, including women who sat on the road, raising slogans against the YSR Congress government.

    In the advisory, the police said that vehicles coming from RR Junction towards Khodays circle, should move towards to Krishna floor mill and proceed towards Malleshwaram.

    Vehicles coming from Goodshed road should go towards G T Road via Sangolli Rayanna circle to reach Okalipuram and proceed towards Sujatha Theatre.

    Vehicles coming from Ananda Rao circle should move towards Old JDS office road and reach Sheshadripuram Road, added the advisory.

    Vehicles coming from Mysuru Bank circle, proceed towards Palace road towards Maharani junction underpass and go towards Basaveshwara circle, the advisory mentioned.

    After private vehicle owners and drivers called for a strike in Bengaluru, Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Sunday said that they have the right to do so. "We have arranged BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) buses for school-going children, office-going people and for those who're going to hospitals. BMTC has arranged around 500 extra buses. Nothing will happen. They (private transport) are going for a strike, let them, they have the right to do so,” Reddy said.

    Bangalore bandh today: Autorickshaw unions want Rs 10,000 monthly assistance

    According to Times of India, the Bengaluru autorickshaw unions are demanding a monthly financial assistance of Rs 10,000, establishment of an authority for the development of drivers, ban on illegal bike taxis, and permits for electric autos, among other things.     Schools closed in Lucknow due to heavy rain

    All government and private schools up to class 12 in Lucknow have been closed on Monday due to heavy rain and a severe thunderstorm. District Magistrate Suryapal Gangawar ordered the closure of schools after lightning and heavy rains hit the state capital at around 2.30.a.m. Several areas were reported to be water logged and strong winds led to snapping of electricity and telecom wires.     The Karnataka Transport Department has made arrangements in order to tackle the Bandh called by the private bus, taxi and auto unions. Transport Minister Reddy told ANI that he has given instructions for operating buses so that there is no inconvenience to the public. The transport minister instructed the officials to ply government buses on the routes to schools and colleges in Bengaluru.     Bengaluru Bandh: Vistara airline issues advisory

    Vistara airline has adviced its customers travelling from Bengaluru tomorrow to allow more time for their journey to the airport as the private transport associations have called a bandh. "Due to the 'Bengaluru Bandh' on September 11, 2023, private transport might be disrupted. Customers travelling from Bangalore are advised to allow more time for their journey to the airport," Vistara posted on social media platform X. The strike was declared in protest against the Karnataka government’s Shakti scheme that provides women free travel on non-premium government buses. The private transport operators say that the scheme eats into their profit. The protest is expected to affect the transport service in the city.

    Karnataka Traffic police issues advisory for ‘Bengaluru Bandh’ today

    Bengaluru traffic police has issued a traffic advisory for the public to plan accordingly after Karnataka State Private Vehicles Owner Association’s call for ‘Bengaluru Bandh’ on Monday.
    “There might be disruption in operation of taxis, maxi cabs, private buses and auto rickshaws. Therefore, all road users are advised to use alternative roads and plan their travel accordingly,” the advisory stated.

    An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 jolted Bay of Bengal on the early hours of Monday, according to National Center for Seismology (NSC). An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 struck Tripura's Dharmanagar on Saturday, as per the NCS data. The earthquake was recorded at a depth of 43 km.

    Bengaluru private transporters' strike today, likely to affect commuters
