ReutersGlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.23 per cent), Pfizer Ltd.(up 1.16 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.17 per cent), Sanofi India Ltd.(up 0.17 per cent) and Abbott India Ltd.(up 0.17 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 1.7 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 0.87 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 0.62 per cent) and Lupin Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.2 per cent at 15274.9 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 55.95 points at 19783.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 224.63 points at 66490.19.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.
Shares of JP Power, Reliance Power, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Trans & Rectif, Mazagon Dock Ship, Emmbi Industries, Usha Martin and Graphite India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Penta Gold, Bombay Metrics Suppl, Shubhlaxmi Jewel Art, Panache Digilife and TCNS Clothing hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
