Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.13% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 10:29AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.52 per cent), GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.51 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 1.36 per cent), Pfizer Ltd.(up 1.13 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.94 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 2.94 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 0.75 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.73 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 0.51 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 0.36 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.13 per cent at 15032.05 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 22.65 points at 19457.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 0.04 points at 65387.12.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin, Vodafone Idea, Rail Vikas Nigam and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Indian Railway Fin, Hindustan Comp, Pearl Global, MMTC and All E Technologies hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while CMI Ltd, Penta Gold, Sanco Industries, Sri Adhikari and FutureLifestyleFash hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
