In the Nifty index, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 1.87 per cent), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 1.79 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.72 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(up 1.11 per cent) and Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 0.67 per cent) stood among the top gainers.
On the other hand, Reliance Industries Ltd.(down 1.68 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 1.37 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.32 per cent), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 1.25 per cent) and Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 1.09 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
