Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 3.92%), Voltamp Transformers(down 2.92%), CESC(down 2.09%), JSW Energy(down 1.85%), Suzlon Energy(down 1.60%), DPSC(down 1.40%), Orient Green Power Company(down 1.37%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.32%), Inox Wind Energy(down 1.28%) and Hitachi Energy India(down 1.20%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 57.3 points down at 19386.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 180.96 points at 65252.34.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.87%), Asian Paints(up 1.79%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.72%), Infosys(up 1.11%), Britannia Industries(up 0.67%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.61%), Adani Enterprises(up 0.37%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.3%), Nestle India(up 0.28%) and Hindustan Unilever(up 0.28%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Reliance Industries(down 1.68%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.37%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.32%), JSW Steel(down 1.25%), Grasim Industries(down 1.09%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.08%), Divis Laboratories(down 1.08%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.03%), HCL Technologies(down 0.95%) and Cipla(down 0.82%) closed in the red.
