Major global information technology and electronics manufacturing giants such as Apple, Intel, Google, Lenovo, Dell Technologies, HP, and others have called on the US government to “use every available forum” to push India to reconsider implementing the import restriction policy on IT hardware and launch a formal stakeholder consultation to solicit recommendations from the industry.

Concerns over a possible monopoly situation have led the government to put on hold new guidelines stipulating that airlines be checked roughly every six months for usage of airport slots — which they will lose if not used at the prescribed threshold — against the current practice of an annual review, officials said.
