Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 1.1%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.

Shares of Macrotech Developers(up 3.93 per cent), Phoenix Mills(up 1.98 per cent), DLF(up 1.51 per cent), Oberoi Realty(up 0.97 per cent) and Mahindra Lifespace Developers(up 0.59 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Indiabulls Real Estate(down 1.54 per cent), Brigade Enterprises(down 1.42 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(down 1.16 per cent), SOBHA(down 0.34 per cent) and Godrej Properties(down 0.15 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 1.1 per cent up at 533.45.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 30.45 points at 19465.0, while the BSE Sensex stood up 137.5 points at 65539.42.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.

Shares of Indian Railway Fin, SBFC Finance, Reliance Power, Vodafone Idea and IOB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of SBFC Finance, Texmo Pipe Prod, GRSE, Cochin Shipyard and Krishca Strapping So hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Goldstar Power, Synoptics Technologi, BKM Industries, Genesys Intnl and Oriana Power hit their fresh 52-week lows.
