Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 10:19AM

Ugar Sugar Works(up 3.17%), Sakthi Sugars(up 2.22%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.71%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 1.54%), K.M.Sugar Mills(up 1.37%), Rana Sugars(up 1.05%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 1.00%), Mawana Sugars(up 0.96%), MAGADHSUGAR(up 0.93%) and Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.82%) were among the top gainers.

BAJAJHIND(down 2.55%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 0.27%) and Balrampur Chini Mills(down 0.23%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 49.6 points down at 19384.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 83.33 points at 65318.59 at around 10:19AM.

Infosys(up 1.26%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.17%), HCL Technologies(up 1.04%), ITC(up 0.99%), State Bank of India(up 0.82%), Wipro(up 0.81%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.69%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.51%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 0.4%) and Cipla(up 0.38%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 2.12%), Divis Laboratories(down 1.87%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 1.61%), Britannia Industries(down 1.44%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.14%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.13%), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.13%), HDFC Bank(down 0.96%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.93%) and Eicher Motors(down 0.9%) were trading in the red.
