Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.6% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:10AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

AU Small Finance Bank(up 0.59 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.34 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bank of Baroda(down 2.18 per cent), State Bank of India(down 2.17 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 1.12 per cent), IndusInd Bank(down 0.98 per cent) and Federal Bank(down 0.94 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.6 per cent at 43935.95 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 108.7 points at 19319.6, while the BSE Sensex was down 298.04 points at 65024.61.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 9 were trading in the green, while 41 were in the red.

Shares of Indian Railway Fin, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Technocraft Ind, Agri-Tech(India), RS Software, Pearl Global and Genus Pwr Infra hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Reliance Home Fin, CMI Ltd, Allcargo Terminals, Transindia Real Esta and Bharatiya Glo hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
