PTIThe monsoon session of the Indian Parliament concluded on Friday, with the House being adjourned sine die till then next session.
Three weeks of the monsoon proceedings saw the House witness remarkable amounts of chaos, with the Prime Minister facing a no-confidence motion from the Opposition, while the Leader of Opposition - Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury - was suspended from the Lok Sabha after his remarks in response to Modi's remarks caused outrage in the session.
On the legislative front, the Centre passed multiple Bills in the session, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, as well as the Jan Vishwas, Mediation and Delhi Services Bills. Home Minister Amit Shah also tabled amendments to three criminal law Bills - the IPC, CrPC, and the Evidence Act.
The session also saw the return of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who had been stripped of his MP status following a Gujarat court ruling in a 2019 defamation case regarding Gandhi's remarks regarding the 'Modi' surname.
Friday's session was also adjourned right after it began amid protests by the Opposition against Chowdhury's suspension.
